Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy IV, (221-205 B.C.), AE 39, Alexandria mint, issued 221-205 B.C., (40.18 g), obv. diademed head of Zeus Ammon to right, dotted border, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, head to right, standing on thunderbolt holding cornucopiae on shoulder, part around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, between legs E, (S.7815, Sv.974, SNG Cop.224-6, Pitchfork 44-48). Good very fine, brown patina.
Ex Decades Collection and CNG stock (251484), previously from the Spink Auction 36, 30-31 May 1984, (lot 66 part of) and the R.C. Lockett Collection, Glendining, 21-23 February 1961, (lot 3015 part of).
