Syria, Roman Province of Syria, after Seleukid kingdom of Philip Philadelphos, dated by Caesarean era, issued in year 6 = 44-43 B.C., silver tetradrachm, (15.69 g), Antioch mint, obv. head of Philip to right, with diademed, fillet border, rev. Zeus seated to left, on throne holding Nike, ANT (Antioch) monogram to left, S in exergue, legends left and right **[B]ASILEWS FILIPPOU EPIFANOUS [FI]LADELFO[U]*, (S.7215, cf.BMC 7, RPC 4130, Dura V (NNM 38) No.2). Toned, blue patina, extremely fine or better, very rare, probably the finest known.
