Bithynia, Nicomedia, Septimius Severus, (193-211 A.D.), medallion, AE 36, (28.16 g), obv. around AY KA CE**P* CEYHPOC **P* C, radiate head right, rev. around NIKOMH - **DEWN* Severus, holding spear, on prancing horse to right, below, fallen enemy and scattered arms, in exergue, **D*IC NE**WKO / RWN*, (S.-, Cf.Waddington, Recueil General des Monnaies Grecques d'Asie Mineur, I, 1- I, 4, pl. XCIII, 2 [obverse] and 21 [reverse, Julia Domna], see NFA Auction Sale 29 [lot 571]). Extremely rare (missing in all major collections) of brown patination and good very fine/good fine, with dealer ticket.
