Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.17 g), Amphipolis mint, issued c.315-294 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **L* above torch all to left, monogram of AP under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 446, BMC 446). Nearly extremely fine.
