Germany, Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Heinrich Julius (1589-1613), two thaler, 1612 (65mm;57.59g), Zellerfield Mint, Heinrich Oeckeler, obv. Duke Heinrich Julius on armoured horseback proceeding left and holding a staff or sceptre in his right hand, rev. the arms of the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel adorned with floral ornature and surmounted by five crested helmets with coronets, the central crest of the dukes of Brunswick and Luneburg consists of a column, surmounted by a crown, between two facing sickles embellished with peacock rosettes, in front of the column is a horse courant left (the heraldic ensign of Brunswick and Hannover)(KM.38, Dav.LS.32). Nearly very fine/very fine and scarce.
