Royal Geographic Society, Patrons medal (1910) in gold (55mm; 117.34g) by A.G.Wyon, uninscribed plain edge (BHM 4001) struck by John Pinches Ltd. Minor surface marks, brilliant, good extremely fine and extremely rare.

Reputed to have belonged to the eminent Scottish polar scientist Dr. William Spiers Bruce who was awarded the medal in the initial year 1910. The medal was awarded annually. Usually the edge was inscribed. From 1923 the medals were struck at the Royal Mint, London.
