Australian International Exhibitions, Sydney 1879-80, Melbourne 1880-81, Presentation medal in bronze (76mm) by J.S.& A.B.Wyon, obverse bust of Albert Edward Prince of Wales K.G. President of the Royal Commission, engraved on reverse 'The Earl/Cadogan/Commissioner' within wreath, in a Wyon case of issue gilt blocked on lid 'A.E./Royal Commission/Australian/International/Exhibitions'. Polished on obverse, otherwise extremely fine.

George Henry Cadogan, 5th Earl Cadogan, KG,PC,JP (1840-1915) politician and diplomat. MP for Bath 1873, Under-Secretary of State for Ireland 1875-78, Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies 1878-80, Lord Privy Seal 1886-92, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland 1895-1902, first Mayor of Chelsea 1900. On the Royal Commission for the Exhibitions in Sydney 1879-80 and Melbourne 1880-81.
