Hawkes Bay and Gisborne Savings Bank, to commemorate the bi-centenary of Captain James Cook's second voyage of discovery to New Zealand, 1772-1972, set of three medals, in gold (9ct, 38.8g) (numbered 44 on edge), silver and bronze, all (38.5mm), design by James Berry and struck by Dick & Watt, Petone (M&P.1972/1). Toned, uncirculated and scarce, a maximum of 500 gold medals struck, in plush case of issue.
