Trio: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 300 L/Cpl J.G.Daniel 7/Bn A.I.F. on first medal, 300 Sgt J.G.Daniel 7 Bn A.I.F. on second and third medals. All medals impressed. Very good - very fine.

Together with cloth rank badge and a black folder containing personal letters to family, photos including one of his grave, other correspondence, postcards and embroidered souvenir cards.

James Gardiner Daniel, bank clerk, born Echuca, Vic; Enl.21Aug1914 at Shepparton, Vic; promoted Sgt 30Apr1915; WIA 08May1915 Gallipoli Peninsula; Court Martialled 31Mar1916 for deserting post 28Mar1916 whilst on guard duty aboard HMS Magantic, sentence - reduced to ranks; also AWOL 12Apr1916; appointed L-Cpl 05Jun1916 France, Cpl 01Aug1916, L-Sgt 27Aug1916; WIA (GSW thigh) 26Feb1917 France, left leg amputated; DOW 28Feb1917; buried Dernancourt Communal Cemetery.
