Together with original documents for Certificate of Discharge from 2/4th Foot; NSW Department of Prisons reference; NSW Military Forces School of Musketry Certificate; NSW Army Certificate of Discharge; NSW Army Certificate of Character; Invitation to Annual Dinner to Veterans of the Navy and Army at the Drill Hall, Victoria Barracks, 9th November 1910.

William Parker was born in Parish of St James, near the town of London, County of Middlesex. He enlisted in 2/4th Foot Regt at Westminister on 21Nov1870 at age 22. He served 12 years, 220 days of which 4 years 192 days was service abroad. He was discharged at Poona, East India on 20Jun1883. From Bombay he took passage for himself, wife and child to Sydney, New South Wales. He joined NSW Department of Prisons on 30Aug1883 serving until 12Feb1885. On 19Feb1885 he joined the NSW Volunteer Permanent Staff as Quartermaster Sergeant. He qualified as a Sergeant instructor of musketry on 26Sep1898. After service of 17 years and 194 days he discharged at Sydney, NSW on 31Aug1902.
