Caracalla, (198-217 A.D.), silver denarius, issued 217 A.D., Rome mint, (2.92 g), obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, bearded, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. P M TR P XX COS IIII P P around, Jupiter, standing to half left with head to left, naked except for cloak over shoulder, raising right hand and holding thunderbolt, and in left hand holding a sceptre, (S.6845, RIC 285a, RSC 373). Dark grey patination, extremely fine, scarce.
