M. Caecilius, Q.f. Q.n. Metellus, (127 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.67 g), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * below chin, ROMA downwards behind, rev. Macedonian shield on which is an elephant's head, all within wreath, M.METELLVS Q.F. around, (S.139, Cr.263/1b, Syd.480a). Off centred obverse, nearly very fine and scarce.
