Phoenicia, Tyre, (c. 2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (13.11 g), Tyre mint, issued year 26 = 101-100 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, dotted border, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, above **SK*, monogram **HDR* in right field, around **TUR OU IERAS KAI ASULOU*, dotted border, (S.5918, Cohen [p.503, reports date as C], BMC 111 [p.240], H.1618 [817]). Lightly toned, porous reverse (once mounted), otherwise good very fine.
