Sicily, Syracuse, Kingdom of, Pyrrhos, (278-276 B.C.), AE 24 (10.13 g), obv. youthful head of Herakles to left in lion skin, to left **SURAKOSIWN*, rev. Athena Promachos advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, to right an owl, (S.1213, BMC 498, SNG ANS 850) (illustrated); Spain, Castulo, (late 2nd century B.C.), AE 28, (9.61 g), obv. male head with diademed, hand before, dotted circle, rev. Sphinx to right, 'Kastulo' in exergue, (S.-, SNG BMC 2, 1323-1337, CNH 335/38). First with even brown patina, very fine and very scarce, second with green patination with uneven flan, fine and scarce. (2)
