Italy, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (281-272 B.C.), silver stater, (6.59 g), obv. naked boy rider on horse to right, under Nike two amphoras, above horse rump **LU*, below horse in minute letters **APOLLW*, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a [kantharos] and trident, beneath dolphin **TAPAS below, **QI* in upper right field, (cf.S.370, Vl.763 [this coin], SNG ANS 1118). Grey with underlining blue and gold patination, extremely fine and very scarce.
