Australia, New South Wales, invitation to Mr W.J.Ferris to attend Centennial Park on the occasion of the Swearing in of The Earl of Hopetoun, first Governor General of Australia, January 1st, 1901; invitation to Mr. W.J.Ferris and Lady to an Evening Excursion to enable Parliamentarians to visit Macquarie Light House via Watson's Bay on 31st (no year indicated); programme for Dedication of Captain Cook's Landing Place, 6th May 1899; Parliament House Sydney, April 2nd 1900, menu for Banquet to Hon: Henry Copeland, Agent General for New South Wales; Parramatta Park Improvement Committee, Second Arbor Day, card to Major Ferris M.P. advising his allocated tree for planting by him, Sept 12, 1900; Braidwood Railway League Public Banquet menu in honour of visit of Hon. Sir W.J.Lyne K.C.M.G., Premier of N.S.Wales; Citizens of Parramatta and Districts Welcome Home to our Returned Soldiers Banquet menu with one of the toasts proposed by W.J.Ferris, Esq., M.P.; various photos (6) relating to W.J.Ferris and family including one of his flag draped coffin, military helmet atop, being taken from his home to a horse drawn hearse; contemporary print of a colonial period coloured drawing of a river scene featuring sheep grazing beside tree with small sail boat on the river and a church spire in the distance, mapped with cardboard surround; also an affectionate 4-page handwritten letter from George Jamieson at Camp Mudgee, 14th February 1876, to his daughter Ellenor (sic) on the occasion of her 17th birthday (she would later marry W.J.Ferris). Many items with foxing or faded, the letter with splits on the folds and some tears but still easily read, otherwise fine - very fine. (15)
