Seventeenth Century Tokens, London, The King's Head Tavern, Chancery Lane by Thomas Kent innkeeper 1630-1660, farthing undated (2) with obverse bust of Henry VIII, (D.510); The Golden Lion Tavern, in the Strand, farthing issued by Francis Jeffrey, (D.2986); The Fox and Goose, at Mark Lane (of Fenchurch Street), farthing, undated, (D.1867). Fine - very fine, all scarce, these with described details and extracts from Samuel Pepys' diary entry of April 2, 1868 with reference to the King's Head Tavern, December 28 1666 with reference to the Golden Lion Tavern and November 28, 1661 and to the Fox and Goose Tavern, included. First coin and last two from S&B Coins, January 2003 (T16), November 2002 (T395) and November 2000 (T446), the second duplicate coin of King's Head from Trenerry January 1999 (D192).
