Robert Alfred Lowrey, sailor with Aberdeen Line, age 30, born at Hull, Yorkshire, England; Enl.04Sep1914 at Morphetville, Sth Aust; Emb.22Sep1914; to Gallipoli 02Mar1915; WIA 27Mar1917 GSW head, France; WIA 26Aug1917 shrapnel wound to right thigh, France; RTA 08Oct1918; Disch.23Feb1919; On his application to enlist Lowrey stated he had been convicted for drunkenness in Sydney. Throughout his term of service he incurred numerous offences for drunkenness, striking an officer, resisting arrest, breaking out of camp, being out of bounds and being improperly dressed.
