Donald Nevison, plasterer, age 19, born at High Camp Plain, Victoria; Enl.11Sep1914 at Bendigo, Victoria; previous service with Citizen Forces; Emb.19Oct1914; Pte Nevison with 6Bn took part in the Landing at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915, where it went ashore as part of the second wave, then shortly after the landing the 2nd Brigade was transferred from Anzac Cove to Cape Helles to assist in the attack on Krithia and during this unsuccessful attack the 6th Battalion suffered heavy casualties losing 133 men killed or died of wounds including Pte Nevison KIA 08May1915; Donald Nevison was adopted at 5 months and as his foster mother was dead, his medals were issued to his eldest adopted sister, Miss Annie Smith in 1921.
