Recommendation: At Pozieres, France, 23rd July 1916, after his platoon officer had been killed and his platoon broken up by heavy shell fire, Sgt. Bellchambers collected the remainder and took his portion of the trench. He showed splendid devotion to duty, ability to command, and did good work the whole time.
