Valens, (A.D. 364-378), silver siliqua, Treveri mint, issued A.D. c. 367-375 (1.74 g), obv. pearl-diademed head of Valens to right, around DN VALEN S PF AVG, rev. VRBS ROMA, Roma seated to left on throne holding spear and Victory on globe, TRPS. in exergue, (S.4113, RIC 27b, RSC.109c). Dark tone, extremely fine/nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 43 (lot 2028).
