Cnaeus Pompey Junior (Eldest son of Pompey the Great), (46-45 B.C.), silver denarius, (4.02 g), Spanish mint, obv. Roma head to right in Corinthian helmet, around M. POBLICI. LEG PRO, PR behind, rev. female Hispania to right, presenting palm to Pompey alighting from prow, around CN. MAGNVS. IMP, (S.1384, Cr.469/1a, Syd.1035). Attractive with good centring, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Auction Sale 47 (lot 2991).
