Ancient Greek, assorted AE including Sicily, Syracuse, reign of Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), AE 27, (17.00 g), obv. diademed head of Hieron beardless to left, uncertain symbol behind, rev. horseman prancing to right, holding spear couched, beneath AP monogram, in exergue [IEP**WNOS*], (S.1221, cf.SNG Fitz. 1417, cf.SNG Cop. 842, cf.SNG ANS 932-3) (illustrated); Numidia, Kings of, Masinissa and successors, probably Micipsa, (c.203-118 B.C.), AE 26, (10.61 g), obv. bearded and diadmeded head of Macipsa to left, rev. horse trotting to left, several pellets below, (cf.S.6597, cf.M.32, SNG Cop. 505, Mazard 50); Aigina, late 4th century B.C., AE 11, (1.51 g), obv. two dolphins upright, A between, rev. incuse square with one corner divided, (S.2610, BMC 206); Mysia, Lampsakos, AE 9, obv. Apollo head right, rev. forepart of a winged horse, (cf.S.3894 [trihemiobol]; Carthage (3) AE 18-22, with obv. Tanit head left, rev. horse head right, (S.6526) (2); horse right, palm behind (S.6509).
