Marcian, (A.D. 450-457), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 450-457, (4.43 g), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing slightly to the right, holding spear and shield, D N MARCIA NVS P F AVG around, rev. Victory standing to left, holding long cross, star in right field, VICTORI A AVGGG**G* around, CONOB in exergue, (S.21379, RIC 510, DOC 476-484). Broad flan, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
