M. Porcius Cato, silver denarius, issued c.89 B.C., 3.79 grams, Rome Mint, Crawford 343/1b, Sydenham 596, BMC Italy 657, B. Porcia 5 (#40 VF), Sear 261, Obv. Head of Female r., hair tied with band (Roma?), with RO MA(ligated). behind and M.[CATO] below, border of dots, Rev. Victory seated r., holding patera in r. hand, and palm branch in l., over l. shoulder, in exerque VIC TR(ligated) IX, border of dots. Weak striking in places, toned, very fine and scarce, (1474).
