Jupiter in biga of elephants to l., Victory flies above, C. ME(ligated) TELLV [S]. Toned, very fine and rare (14).
The issue refers to the famous victory of L. Caecilius Metellus over the Carthaginians at Panormus in 251 B.C., when he captured all the enemy's elephants and later exhibited them in his triumph at Rome.
