Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 223, Rome mint, (2.62 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped, around IMP C MAVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. PROVIDE N TIA AVG, Providentia standing to left, holding rod and sceptre, (S.7920, RIC 173, RSC 498). Attractive dark grey tone, good very fine.
