Thrace, Maroneia, (c.189 - 145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.76 g), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Dionysos naked standing to left, holding grapes and two narthex wands, to right **DIONUSOU*, to left **SWTHROS*, below **MAPWNITWN*, monograms to left and right below, (cf.S.1635, Schonert-Geiss 1147 [Obv.50, rev. 156], BMC 128 [same dies]). Large flan, attractive style, extremely fine and rare.
