The National Bank of Australasia, five pounds printer's black and white uniface specimen on paper, Adelaide, 18.., SPECIMEN stamped in Manager signature reserve, 'Sept 2nd 1859' annotated in pencil in bottom margin (MVR type 1). Good very fine and rare.
Ex Perkins Bacon Archive, Spink/Christie's Sale, Melbourne 23 May 1995 (lot 654, wrongly attributed to London Chartered Bank of Australia).
