Attica, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.84 grams), issued 166-5 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 134-3 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, to left anchor and star, legend across A YE, TIM APXOY, NIKAGO, MENANDPOS, FIL, SF below, Y on amphora, (cf.S.2555, cf.Thompson 365c but with additional letters this type not noted). Brilliant, nearly uncirculated and apparently unpublished.
