Italy, Calabria, Taras, (235-228 B.C.), silver stater, (6.54 grams), obv. warrior bare headed to right in full military costume with tunic thorax etc. on horse cantering to right, holds in hand a Nike with wreath, below **KALLIKRA THS in two lines, above to left a monogram, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a Nike with wreath and a trident, to right NE monogram, **TAP[AS] below, (cf.S.379, Vl.965, SNG ANS 1261). Extremely fine.
