Group of Six: 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45.VX41302 R.A.J.Johnson. The second medal engraved, the rest impressed. Very fine - extremely fine.
Together with four dog tags, two in aluminium and two in fibrous compound, also various military documents and photos. Robert Allan Joseph Johnson, truck driver, age 26, born at Melbourne, Victoria; Enl.09Jun1940 at Swan Hill, Victoria; Emb.03May1941 for Middle East; RTA 25Mar1942; 06May1942 married Elizabeth Sarah Johnson at St Paul's Cathedral, Bendigo; Emb16Jul1943 for Port Moresby, New Guinea; RTA21Jan1944 arriving at Townsville; classified as unfit for operational service 15May1945; 13Aug1945 joined 120 Aust Gen Transport Coy; Disch.18Oct1945. Post war most of Robert's employment was with the Bendigo Ordnance factory.
