Recommendation: For conspicuous courage and devotion to duty during the attack near Estrees, East of Peronne, on 3.10.18. As this man's platoon advanced to the attack it was met by heavy resistance from an enemy strong post directly in front. Pte Adams immediately rushed ahead with his bayonet and entered the post, killing two Germans, and assisting in the capture of seven others. He then signalled to the remainder of the section to advance, and held his prisoners until their arrival. His dashing action in charging this post single-handed undoubtedly saved heavy losses in the platoon.

George Arthur Adams, sleeper cutter, age 27, born at Rosedale, Victoria; Enl.21Feb1916 at Neerim South, Victoria; Emb.25Sep1916; awarded MM 03Jul1919; RTA 09Oct1919; Disch.25Nov1919.
