John Phillips, stonemason, age 22 born Merthyr Tydfil, Wales; Enl.10Aug1915 at Blackboy Hill, Western Australia; Disemb.16Feb1916 at Alexandria; 29Apr1917 Court Martial, charge - Conduct to the prejudice of good order of military discipline: Wounding himself by discharging his rifle whilst on Ration Fatigue. Found guilty and sentenced to 90 days confinement; KIA 20Sep1917 at Ypres, Belgium; commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
