HENRY VI, (1422-1461), first reign, annulet issue, 1422-7, quarter noble, London Mint, mm lis, lis over shield, (S.1810, N.1420, Schneider SCBI 47, No.295-297). Round flan, nearly extremely fine and rare.

This piece was produced at the start of what became a tumultuous reign, dominated by the Wars of the Roses. Henry was born on 6th December 1421, and became King of England in 1422, in his cradle, aged 9 months old.
