Bukkulla Vineyards, McIntyre River, Inverell, one pound fourteen shillings and eightpence, currency note, dated April 9 1870 (date written), No.196, watermarked WHATMAN 1865, value tablets in upper corners with additional value 14-8 added, arms in centre, on front Pay B--- (handwritten) or Bearer the sum of ONE POUND fourteen shillings and eightpence, Messrs. Wyndham, Dalwood Vineyards, Branxton N.S.W.', signed by F.W.Wilkinson. Note is cross cancelled, handwritten 'Pay Bank Account of Hugh Wyndham only, Paid April 19/70' all within rectangular ornamental border, blue on white (Vort Ronald type 1a [p.23-25], illustrates a similar example and similar type illustrated Vort Ronald..Shinplaster..p.24). Very fine and a rare variety.
