Bank of New South Wales, uniface one pound, described as a forgery issued at Sydney, dated 2nd April 1877, (18 printed), specimen, No. A/3 157004, with imprint in centre of bottom, 'Charles Skipper & East, London', with vignettes of female seated with produce and in top corners oval framed tablet with ONE, all within rectangular ornate spiral border with words NEW SOUTH WALES, back with large ONE within rectangular frame surrounded by ornate circles in each corner, black on white, written on front 'Forgery Case', on back initialled and dated 27/12/77, (Vort-Ronald, p.67-85 on bank, and similar note illustrated as Fig.82, this note noted in Vort Ronald, Australian Private Banknote Pedigrees p.65). Nearly fine, with many wrinkles, folds and flattened, rare.
