Valens, (A.D. 364-378), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 366-367, 8th Officina, (3.99 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valens around DN VALENS PER F AVG, rev. Valens standing facing head to right, holding labarum symbol and Victory, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, .ANTH. in exergue, (S.4104, RIC IX 2d xiii C.32, Depeyrot 27/3). Slightly wavy flan, light surface marks, otherwise good fine and scarce.
