Group of Four: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID; Meritorious Service Medal (GVR type 1 swivelling suspender). SS-6545 Pte. W.Ward, A.S.C. on first medal, SS-6545 W.O.Cl 1. W.Ward. A.S.C. on second and third medals, SS-6545 S.S.Mjr:W.Ward. A.S.C. on last medal. All medals impressed. Swing mounted, good very fine.
MSM: Supplement to LG 4/6/1917, p4593, to S.S.M. W.Ward, A.S.C. for valuable services rendered with the Armies in the field.
MID: Supplement to LG 1/1/1916, p62. to Sgt W.Ward for gallant and distinguished service in the field.
Wilfred Ward served in France from 26Jan1915; he died 09Feb1919 (age 25) and is buried at Blackley (St Peter) Churchyard, Lancashire, UK.
