Group of Four (awarded scarce C-in-C's card): 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. VX78739 A.C.Targett on first two medals and VX78759 (incorrectly inserted 59 instead of 39) A.C.Targett on last two medals. Impressed. Court mounted, second medal needs securing, otherwise very fine - good very fine.

Athol Creswick Targett, printer, born 05Oct1921 at Launceston, Tasmania; Enl.31Mar1942 at Caulfield, Victoria; charged with obscene language and striking a superior officer and also AWOL on four occasions; contracted malaria Sep1943; 17Dec1943 to Convalescent Depot as a malaria experiment volunteer; Emb.29Aug1944 to New Guinea for ops; RTA 04Jan1946; Disch.17Jan1946 ex 109th Aust. Casualty Clearing Station; Awarded Commander-in-Chief's Card for distinguished service in the South West Pacific Area, 1944 (Only 1,400 awarded compared to 6,200 MIDs).
