Siculo-Punic, (c.350-320/315 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.72 g), obv. wreathed head of Tanit to left wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, one dolphin behind, rev. horse standing right before a palm tree, crescent in upper left field, (cf.S.6429 [p.594], Jenkins, SNR 56, 121 [same dies 041/R109], McClean 3036 [same dies], SNG Lockett 1046 [same reverse die]). Lightly toned with traces of brilliance, a few small spots of horn silver, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.

Ex Alan Jordan Collection and purchased from Noble Numismatics Sale 64 (lot 2432) the Dr. Stephen Mulligan Collection and previously from the Classical Numismatic Group Auction Sale No.49, 17th March 1999 (lot 141). Jenkins records five examples of this coin type from these dies, this piece is a new unlisted example.
