Description

USA, 1922 Grant memorial commemorative silver half dollar, star in field. Brilliant, nearly uncirculated.

In a slab by NGC as MS62. Mintage was 5,006, the number melted 750 leaving a net distribution of 4,256. See note above. The Mint completed the first batch of 100,000 half dollars in February 1922. Much to the Centenary Commission's surprise, this contained 5,000 of the coins which had an incused star similar to that on the gold dollars.
