Germany, Stolberg, Wolfgang Georg (1612 - 1631), silver taler, 1624CZ, (28.90 g), obv. WOLF. GEORG. COM. IN. STOLB. KON 1 6 2 4 across at top, helmeted arms, C Z across shield, rev. WERN. ET. HON. DOM. IN. EP. MIN. B. LOR. ET. CLE, flowers and grass under stag walking to left, (D.7778, KM.52). Lightly toned, full flan, very fine or better, scarce.

Similar with stag, arms and titles to issues struck from 1544. Wolfgang Georg was count in Stolberg, Konigstein, Wernigerode and Hohnstein and lord in Epstein. Stolberg was in the Harz mountains between Brunswick-Luneburg and Mansfeld, and its rulers coinage was made possible by rich silver mines in their possession.
