KPM: Gazette of India 02Jan1922.
'This Officer was left in charge of Calicut, during the Mapilla rebellion, at the time of the fighting on the 20th and the 21st August 1921 at Tirurangadi, when communications were cut and Calicut isolated. He acted promptly on his own initiative and did much to allay panic. His action in putting Ferok bridge in a state of defence and holding it with his reserve believed to have been instrumental in saving Calicut from a very critical position.'
