Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.68 g), Miletos mint, issued c.190-c.165 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, star over lion over MI PKA and MIO above to right before name, dotted border, (cf.S.6713, cf.Price 2196, Coin Hoards X, Pl.41, 300 [This Coin illustrated], BMC -, M.-). Large flan, good very fine and apparently unpublished.
Ex Freeman & Sear Fixed Price list No.8 c.2003, (134) and comes from the 'Demetrius I" Hoard, published as CH 10.301 (p.153-172).
