First World War Memorial Medal, in silvered bronze (80mm) by A.Drury (BHM 4150), obverse, Minerva kneeling facing right and holding a laurel wreath crown above a fallen, naked figure with the British flag gripped in his left hand, in the background the sun on the horizon and at the top, 'Lest We Forget', reverse, British soldier and sailor standing facing right with lowered heads and reversed rifles, by their feet sprigs of laurel and two wreaths, behind them is a low wall and a panel for inscription, on the horizon two warships, named on panel to, '1077/Pvte. F.C.Whyman/Killed in Action/France/2.7.'16'. Pierced hole in top and bottom rim for mounting in a swivel stand, a few edge nicks, very fine.
