Trio: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg; King's South Africa Medal 1902, - two clasps - South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; Coronation Medal 1911. Capt. C.F.Brace. N.S.W.A. on first medal, Lieut: C.F.Brace. N.S.Wales Art: on second medal, Capt. C.F.Brace. N.S.W. Art. on third medal. All medals engraved. In plush storage case, with original ribbons, swing mounted but Coronation Medal out of order, nicely toned extremely fine.

Ex Wide Bay Antique Militaria, 19 October 1988. Capt Brace, a Special Service Officer, is the only QSA/KSA recipient to be awarded the 1911 Coronation Medal. He attended the Coronation Parade at Buckingham Palace on 30 June 1911 while on the Retired List. Charles Frederick Brace, embarked Sydney 17Jan1900; arrived at Cape Town 16Feb1900; 18Feb1900 appointed Lieutenant; attached to 23rd Comp Royal Artillery; 06Mar1900 joined Pom Pom Depot at Stellinbosch as Staff Officer to Colonel Crampton, Royal Artillery; 17Jun1900 in command of 'V' Section of Pom Poms and proceeded to Johannesburg; 08Jul1900 in command of an armoured train operation between Pretoria and Kroonstad; Oct1900 sent to reinforce Springs and assumed command of Garrison; 10Jan1901 returned to Pretoria and invalided to England on 08Jul1901; Feb1902 took charge of shipment of horses from Fiume, Hungary for Durban then to Pretoria and joined Remount Depot; Embarked from Cape Town arrived Australia 16Sep1902.
