Group of Four to NSW Lancers: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 2 reverse with ghost dates barely visible), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Belfast; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45; Coronation Medal 1902 in bronze. 790. Tpr J.H.Warby. N.S.W.Lancers. on first medal, N409035 J.H.Warby on second and third medals, last medal unnamed as issued. First medal engraved, second and third medals impressed. Court mounted, good very fine.
Awarded the Coronation Medal as a member of the NSW Detachment of the Australian Coronation Contingent. Joseph Hillier Warby, of Moss Vale, born 09Aug1880, (West Camden Half Squadron) 4th Draft to South Africa; appt 2nd Lieut, NSW Lancers 01Jan1903.
