Description

Convict token, on Great Britain George III halfpenny (1770-75), reverse shaved and engraved in three mis-aligned lines, 'Ele/Beth/Scot' (Elizabeth Scott). Cleaned, fine.

Elizabeth Scott, tried at Old Bailey, London on 7 February 1787 on the charge of stealing bridles, straps and stirrups valued at fifteen shillings. She was convicted and sentenced at Middlesex Goal Delivery on 21 February 1787 to Transportation for seven years. She was one of 22 prisoners transported on Prince of Wales to New South Wales. She died on 2 April 1790. With research.
