USSR, Visit of Patriarch Pimen of Moscow and all Russia to the W.C.C. (World Council of Churches), 1973, in silver (44mm), obverse, Patriarch Pimen left, reverse, cross in fisherman’s boat; 1000th Anniversary of conversion of Russia to Christianity, 1988, in bronze (68mm), obverse, St Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles, standing on a cloud holding aloft a cross and bearing a shield, symbols of the orthodox faith which he brought to Russia in 988, reverse, Russian inscriptions. The second medal in plastic case, extremely fine; uncirculated. (2)
